Charlotte Hopster-Iversen

Charlotte Hopster-Iversen is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Surgery in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. She received her veterinary degree at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hannover, Germany in 2006, and thereafter finished a rotating internship at the equine hospital of this University.
In the following years, she completed a doctoral thesis in equine cardiology, followed by a PhD program in equine gastroenterology and a residency program in equine internal medicine.
From 2010 to 2017, she held the position of lecturer in the Section of Internal Medicine of the Equine Hospital of the Veterinary School in Hannover, Germany, and subsequently became a diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM) in 2015.
From 2017 to 2018, she worked as a researcher in translational medicine for the Comparative Orthopedic Research Laboratory at the Department of Clinical Studies-New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine.
In August 2018, Charlotte accepted the position of Assistant Professor in Large Animal Internal Medicine at the Large Animal Hospital of the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. She has published several scientific articles in the field of equine internal medicine, focusing on cardiology, gastroenterology and equine welfare and lectures regularly at national and international meetings and conferences.
